MEF Announces May 4 Event Focused on Marin’s Housing Shortage
Marin Economic Forum
San Rafael, CA (April 5, 2018) – Marin Economic Forum Chief Executive Officer Robin Sternberg announced that it is hosting an event in San Rafael on May 4 to address Marin’s Housing Shortage – The Cost and Potential Solutions.
After brief and opening comments by Sternberg, Marin Economic Forum’s (MEF) Chief Economist Rob Eyler and Economic Policy Consultant Jesús Guzmán will present research findings and recommendations to address the Housing Shortage followed by closing remarks and a Q&A session with California State Senator Mike McGuire (D, 2nd Senate District). McGuire’s jurisdiction is from Marin County to Del Norte County at the Oregon border. McGuire lives in Healdsburg and graduated from Sonoma State University.
“Housing and workforce development are the two most-pressing issues affecting the economic wellness and long-term sustainability of the county and the subject matter is often contentious and politically sensitive to residents and community leaders locally. The Housing Shortage is negatively impacting our local employers, our inequity problem and our overall economy. We want to bring not only data and analysis on these issues, but some potential new solutions to address our demand for housing in Marin” said Sternberg.
The event at the Embassy Suites starts with a reception at 7:30 am and will adjourn by 10 am. Tickets are $40 and include breakfast. Tables of 8 are available. Registration is available at www.maringeconomicforum.org. The Embassy Suites is located at 101 McInnis Parkway, San Rafael.
