Marin Economic Forum Names New CEO, Mike Blakeley

SAN RAFAEL, CA, November 15, 2018 – Former Bay Area business owner and economic development expert Mike Blakeley has been hired as the next Chief Executive Officer of the Marin Economic Forum (MEF). Mr. Blakeley, grew up in Marin County and comes to the MEF after 15 years with Nathan Associates Inc., a global economics consulting firm where he recently served as a Managing Director. In this role Mr. Blakeley was responsible for implementation of large-scale economic development programs in emerging markets funded by country donors, including the U.S. government.
Prior to this Mr. Blakeley owned a San Francisco based company that exported agricultural goods, many of them from California. He also held positions with the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and briefly worked for the Economic Competitiveness Group in Berkeley which produced the Marin County Targeted Industries Study in 2004.

Blakeley received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Oregon, and his M.A. in International Economics from Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. He currently resides in San Anselmo with his wife and two children.
