Marin Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

Have something you wanted to sell online, but not sure how? Or already have an online store, but know it could be doing better? If so, then this is the class for you! During this two-part (Feb. 21 + 28) hands-on workshop, we will take you from concept to a fully executed online store using the Shopify eCommerce platform. We’ll cover product sourcing, digital marketing and everything in between. We will be building an actual e-commerce store in the second part of this workshop so make sure you bring your laptops.
Each participant will leave the workshop with:
– An extended 60-day free trial for their new online store
– A full directory of digital resources to help run and grow your business
– A digital copy of the presentation to reference later
It costs $50 for two 3-hr classes.
Instructor Ramin Ramhormozi has helped start-up ventures strategize their ecommerce goals, taking their products from concept to market. He focuses mainly on eCommerce platform selection on-site and off-site marketing initiatives, search engine optimization with keyword analysis, social marketing strategies, content curation and creation and roadmapping a successful site launch. He has also addressed product data mapping, dropship and fulfillment set-up. Event details: https://www.marinsbdc.org/events/ecommerce-create-online-store-shopify-2
Free Workshop: Learn About “Utility Supplier Diversity”
Marin Clean Energy, March 7
In partnership with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), Marin Clean Energy would like to invite you to an upcoming free workshop on March 7 2019, 6-8 pm, to learn about General Order (GO) 156. Commonly referred to as “Utility Supplier Diversity,” this CPUC program encourages California investor-owned utilities to provide a fair proportion of total utility contracts and subcontracts to businesses that meet diversity qualifications.
This program is open to women, minority, disabled veteran, and LGBT-owned firms representing at least 51% of the business ownership. Qualified businesses will be listed in the CPUC’s Clearinghouse, which utilities can access for their contracting needs.
MCE is hosting a free and informative workshop with guest speakers from the CPUC and the Supplier Diversity Clearinghouse. Together, we will speak to the purpose of this program, certification qualifications, and the contracting opportunities available through the Clearinghouse. Refreshments will be served and parking will be validated.
Seating is limited, so please RSVP by February 28 at certifyamplify.eventbrite.com
